Ways to Save Paper!

10% of all the wood we cut down goes towards paper and wood products. If we stopped using paper, we could cut down 10% of all deforestation issues! Listed below are ways you can help:

  1. Going electronic: contact your mailers to mail you online.

  2. Printing double-sided: Edit your printer's settings to allow it to print on both sides, using only half the paper.

  3. Any unwanted sheets or blank pieces of paper in a book can be cut out and used as printing paper.

  4. If you don’t need a certain piece of paper anymore, if there’s still one side left, you can use it to print or use it as scrap paper. However, if both sides have been used, recycle it! Don’t throw it away in landfill, as paper degrades and pollutes the atmosphere with methane.

  5. Convince your teacher or boss to reduce paper assignments(better yet, get rid of homework all together)!

  6. If you’ve gotten tired of a book, donate it, or rip all the pages out and recycle it.

  7. E-books! Yes, I know, books are better than e-books because of bla bla bla but it’s obvious that the pros outweigh the cons. For example, e-books are actually cheaper: with one subscription you can browse through thousands of books with unlimited access for a whole year! It saves paper… and space!

TIP: Normally, the reason people don’t recycle or compost is because of a single reason: humans are lazy. I know I am sometimes. People would recycle more if recycle bins were available all around the house.

And finally, as always, spread the word(literally)!
