Gum is a very unsustainable product: it's not biodegradable and will never dissolve. Furthermore, it can also stick to many surfaces(hence schools do not allow chewing gum in their classrooms). However, if we put the adhesiveness of gum to use, we can create a re-usable blue-tack!
METHOD
Chew the gum!
After taking the piece out, rinse it thoroughly by pulling it apart and pushing it back in. This is so that we don't get saliva all over our artwork, prizes etc.
(Optional) To increase the effectiveness, place your gum in the microwave in a container/cup(be sure you do not want to use this container afterwards, or you will need to do a 10 minute cleaning job with white vinegar), cover the top up with biodegradable cling-wrap(or put the lid on) and heat it up in 20-second periods.
When it starts bubbling, take it out, and now you have 'glue'! Use it pretty quickly as it cools fast.
Side note: to remove, you can use white vinegar/lemon juice on a paper towel to remove the gum.
