Chances are, you've had a takeaway in your life: which means that you've seen one of these before.
Normally, after you've eaten, you would throw these away but takeaway containers especially are actually very hard to degrade in the environment, making up a significant portion of landfills. So, to prevent that from happening to your containers, why not just wash them out and re-use them? Use it to take your lunch to work, to go back to the restaurant with them; the possibilities are endless. You could also take it to Coles or Woolworths where they have plastics recycling programs.
However, not all containers can be washed, in which case you could recycle the paper ones, and for the other non-recyclable ones you can just chuck them in the bin(make sure that if it's biodegradable, put it in the compost!).
Or even better, eat in the store or BYO containers!
